I'd been wanting to produce a music-related painting for a while, and it was on a break in Spain that I came up with the idea for 'Last Night A DJ Saved My Life'. It's my shout of respect to two things that have had an enormous impact on my life - New York City following 9/11 and New York City musically - for giving birth to the important music genres that I love.
